History of Neighbors for Life |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Neighbors for Life was founded in 1996 by Bob Hindel and Jim Tarsney,
for the express purpose of bring an end to tax-funding of abortion in Minnesota.
Since the ill-fated Doe v. Gomez ruling (Minnesota Supreme Court 1995) Minnesotans have
been forced to pay approximately $1,000,000/ year for abortion on demand via tax revenues. Neighbors for Life has collected over 50,000 signatures on a constitutional amendment to end tax-funding of abortion. Via lobbying, coalition building, political activism (with the Neighbors for Life Political Action Committee), education and cultural work, Neighbors for Life has sought in the 7 years of its existence to raise the profile of tax-funding of abortion, and prepare the public for a constitutional amendment to end tax-funding of abortion in Minnesota. |
